The Belfast Business ‘Oscars' will take place in the newly refurbished City Hall on Thursday 29 April with 19 awards presented in recognition of the fine work of business enterprises, retail outlets and businessmen and women across the city. World Trade Centre Belfast is sponsoring one of the coveted awards' categories – the award for ‘Best International Trade' in the city. This award is open to all organisations in Belfast which, in the last five years, can demonstrate excellence in import, export and international trade achievement.

The awards were launched a special ceremony in the Ulster Hall recently attended by representatives from Belfast City Council, Belfast City Centre Management (awards partner) and principal awards’ sponsors’ the DSD (Department for Social Development) and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
The 19 awards are for Best New Business; Best Business Expansion; Best Innovative Use of IT; Best Marketing Initiative; Best Social Economy Business; Best Young Person of the Year; Legacy to Belfast; Best Green Business; Best International Trade; Best Manufacturing Business; Customer Service Excellence – Independent Retailer; Customer Service Excellence – Multiple Retailer; Best Bar or Pub; Best Café or Coffee Shop; Best Restaurant; Best City Hotel or Guest House and Best Corporate Social Responsibility.
Awards will also be presented for Best Creative Industries and the Best City Regeneration Project.
